A Fantastic Fear of Everything is a 2012 British horror comedy film starring Simon Pegg, written and directed by Crispian Mills with Chris Hopewell as co-director. It is based on the novella Paranoia in the Launderette by Bruce Robinson, writer and director of Withnail and I.
A Fantastic Fear of Everything is far from being a perfect movie but it's a solid, enthralling film that hints at the possibility of Crispian Mills becoming a very fine filmmaker indeed and a hero of the off-kilter cinephiles who are tired of Tim Burton's ever-downward spiral and in need of someone new to rely on for their fix of surrealism.

Comedic genius Simon Pegg (Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz) stars in a most unusual horror-comedy, A Fantastic Fear Of Everything. Jack (Pegg) is a children’s author turned crime novelist whose detailed research into the lives of Victorian serial killers has turned him into a paranoid wreck, persecuted by an irrational fear of being murdered.
If you are a fan of off-beat humor, this is a must. It's not going to have you laughing so hard you're in pain, but this dark comedy is a gem for sure. Pegg's performance in this film does not disappoint. A Fantastic Fear of Everything immediately became a favorite of mine, and I cannot recommend it enough.
A Fantastic Fear of Everything is probably not what you're expecting from Simon Pegg. It's not horrifically funny like Sean of the Dead, as outright entertaining as Hot Fuzz and, mercifully, it's not as tepid as Run Fatboy Run or as stagnant as Paul or Burke and Hare.
A Fantastic Fear Of Everything is a cockeyed and chewy treat for a Pegg-related vehicle that gleefully registers on the side of unsettling cheekiness.
